We wrapped his long fetlocks just
so you can see his legs are getting straighter
and what his shoes look like. (The wraps do NOT stay on!).
He is with the farrier here, right after a new trim
and new shoes. If the shoes come off, you can
glue them back on yourself.

Hombre is a very tiny pintaloosa-bred colt. He looks
all pinto except for two
small appy type spots on his legs. He has beautiful color including
white lightning type marks. He was born premature by about three weeks,
resulting in some early laxation in his joints. He has had special farrier
care with Miracle Shoes for about three months, and his toeing out in front
has improved, but still noticeable. Due to his toeing out, I am selling him at a reduced price as
pet quality. His sire and dam are both VERY straight. He will need a good farrier
and regular trimming at about 6 weeks or so, to keep his legs in good
shape. He has improved greatly and as his legs strengthen, they
should get better. He
will never be perfectly straight though. He is a shy, sweet boy and
would be a loving companion to you and your horses. He would even make
a good companion to a minimal dwarf since he is so gentle and small.
Currently he is in with my five-month-old weanling colt, Raphael, as a buddy,
since there are no other colts born this year. I am guessing Hombre will
mature around 28". He was barely 16" at birth. Being a preemie, it is hard
to calculate. He is shy with new people, but once you gain his trust,
he loves pets and being spoiled. If you are looking for a tiny pet and companion, he
could be your little man! He's our smallest foal to date.
The other foal that was
16.5" at birth is only 27" at 24 months! He has shared the young
stallion pasture with Aladdin, Lance, Zeb, Paisano and Spitfire.
Never any fighting or problems of any kind. He really is a
sweetheart and looks like a little teddy bear in his winter woolies.

Hombre, along with his buddy Paisano,
has been donated to a therapeutic animal farm where kids in wheelchairs come to
pet, groom and love on him.
